Understanding And Memory. How Do They work?
This Issue This Issue
Have you ever noticed that certain things are easy to remember and others are not? Most likely the things you find easy to remember are the ones that require understanding.  Why is that so? First we must acknowledge that there are two types of information. One that requires understanding (like the water cycle, for example) and another that does not (like a phone number, or a country’s capital). What makes information that require understanding so easy to remember, is because once you understand it, it goes into your long-term memory and stays there. You don’t have to repeat it over and over again like a phone number to retain that information. So, how do you benefit from this knowledge?  If you are a student getting ready for a test, concentrate first on the material that requires understanding and then get back to the parts that require memorization. Now, when dealing with memorization, transform that information into a understandable format by using mnemonics, association, songs, etc. Fortunately, all of you who know the LSM technique already have a very organized technique so memorization is a lot faster and  easier.

Memory Power: Understanding And Memory. How Do They work? Business Life: What Does You Handshake Say About You? Are you giving the wrong impression to prospective employers or clients about yourself? Are you losing lots of money by doing it wrong?
Memory Power:
What Does You Handshake Say About You? Are you giving the wrong impression to prospective employers or clients about yourself? Are you losing lots of money by doing it wrong? Giving a proper handshake in business is more important than you probably think it is. Keep in mind that people will make an impression of you in the first 30 secs from meeting you; so it’s very important that you leave a positive image with prospect employers, new acquaintances, etc.
This next video is a funny way of demonstrating what not to do when meeting someone. Why is this important? Well, if you do any of these handshakes at a job interview, most likely you will NOT get the job. I have met many people who have given me some of these handshakes, and trust me, it does not leave a good impression at all. So watch this video, have fun, laugh, and learn at the same time.
